Sandra Pereira
Personal
Trainer & Fitness/Yoga
Instructor I was born in Rio
de Janeiro, Brazil. From the age
of eleven, I began playing
soccer. My soccer experience,
paved the way to who I am and
what I do today.
After leaving Brazil for New
York City in 1983, I was
introduced to jazz dance. I
participated in a choreography
workshop, which inspired me to
learn more about the body’s
physiology and anatomy. In 1987,
I began teaching a stretch and
tone class known as the
Nickolaus Technique.
Soon after, I discovered
weight training, started
pursuing personal training as a
career and became Ace Certified.
I also, went to Marymount
Manhattan College, and took
classes in the anatomy and
kinesiology of exercise, the
science of nutrition, and
exercise for older adults
amongst others. While working in
a variety of gyms and fitness
clubs in New York City,
bodybuilding became my sport,
and in 1992 I participated in my
first competition. In the mid
90’s, I decided to continue my
education and graduated from
Kingsborough Community College
with an associate degree in
applied science. Once in
California, I completed the
Yogafit training and became a
Golf Conditioning Specialist
through ACE.
After 20 years of experience,
I still remain dedicated to the
fitness profession, and am
looking forward to continuing to
learn and grow in my chosen
field.
